Pull the readable text out of HTML

Paste a page, an email body or a fragment and get the text back, with block elements on their own lines so paragraphs and list items do not run together.

What happens to scripts and styles

They are removed, not printed. A naive tag-stripping regex leaves the contents of <script> and <style>behind as a wall of JavaScript and CSS in the middle of your text. This parses the HTML properly with the browser's own parser and drops those elements entirely.

Options

• Keep link URLs in brackets writesthe docs (https://example.com) instead of justthe docs, so the destination survives.
• Collapse onto one line joins everything with spaces, for single-line fields, CSV cells and log messages.
